“Learn to not just help people with their jobs; help them with their lives.” – Jim Rohn

This quote reminds me of what Jim Rohn explained about being enterprising. In my previous post, Entrepreneurship Is Not All About the Money, Jim Rohn stated that being enterprising also means feeling good enough about yourself, having enough self worth to want to seek advantages and opportunities that will make a difference in your future.

Many of us, if not all, when we start our entrepreneurial journey, making money always comes to mind first,

…whether we admit it or not.

As we grow as entrepreneurs, through our invested time in learning, to be a better entrepreneur,

…..we have to think how we can help others first, and then the money will follow.

People seek solutions to their problems all the time. As entrepreneurs, this is we come in – to find solutions to their problems and provide the appropriate or best solution to them.

This in turn, builds our relationship-trust connection with the people we help.

For those of us in the network marketing industry, we all start with a mindset of “How can I make sales”, “How can I recruit”….

…and in many cases, this is how we are trained by our uplines…and other old school way of marketing.

I don’t know about you, but I have been in few direct selling companies, and I have never heard of or trained of  “helping people first” mentality….

their focus is to get customers, make your list….and call them, no prejudging. All of this is fine, however…

…I have become a better marketer than I was – by learning how to help people with their lives.

So, let me go back to the quote,

…”learn to not just help them with their jobs,” to me, it means that using what I learned, I can teach “willing” people the way how to make money and perhaps, that will eventually, guide them how to make money to a point where they can replace their current income and be able to quit their job eventually, at their own time.

…”help them with their lives”, to me, this means, through mentoring, guiding them with their mindset and personal development to grow as a better person overall.

You see, I use the word “willing” above?

Because, only the “willing” and coachable people, whom I will be able to help and make a difference…

…with their jobs…

and their lives….

Wouldn’t it be nice to be a better entrepreneur by learning how to help people with their lives? I think it is worth a shot.
