I celebrate both small and large achievements.
Winning comes in various shapes and forms. Even small achievements add up to a beautiful picture of progress.
My small wins come in the form of daily tasks successfully executed. I know the challenges that come with tackling the big picture of my various roles. It feels good to be able to break down that picture and churn through its smaller parts.
When I am at work, I ignore the noise of blaring deadlines. I maintain composure by breaking down the goals that go into hitting that mark.
The victory at the end of each project is sweeter when it is made up of small achievements. I encourage myself when I hit those. It keeps me from becoming frazzled. Slow and steady always wins the race.
I see my increasing net worth as something to be proud of. Successfully repaying debt is a personal accomplishment and helping others reach their goals are cause for celebration.
Progress is my target in both professional and personal areas of life. I celebrate the progress of others but I make myself my only competition.
It is enough of a challenge to beat my own personal best at anything.
Today, my thoughts turn to my accomplishments for the hours behind me. I smile with pride when I use my time productively.
Each day has its own wins, and it gives me pleasure to acknowledge each of them.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. How do I keep myself from becoming unreasonably competitive?
2. How do I reward myself when I achieve bigger goals?
3. What effect does celebrating my achievements have on my will to persevere?
